THE MEAT GLUT
A. AND P. ASSOCIATIONS' ! RESOLUTIONS. PES PBESS ASSOCIATION. CBRTSTO.HU.ttCH, March 17. A meeting of representatives of Agricultural and Pastoral Associations m Canterbury, held to consider a letter from the Board of Agriculture concerning the meat glut, passed the following resolution: —"This meeting ' wishes to impress on the Government the necessity for supplying the delegates to the proposed conference with lull information as to the conditions which had resulted in the present congestion in the storage of meat; and also the desirability of New Zealand being represented on the Board ot Control of Shipping." The meeting also resolved: —(1; That the commandeer should continue until the works in New Zealand are cleared of the present etocke of meat, shipping lis tinder control, and the producer is in a position to operate in the open markets; delegates to tho conference should have, a free hand in the conference deliberations on the shipping question; Messrs JD. Hall and J. 0. Cooper should be the delegates. In regard to the sending Home of a Commission, the meeting agreed thai a man specially chosen from the Dominion because of his knowledge ot the subject should be selected to act with the High Commissioner.
