The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 13th instant, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London : —■ "Meat—No change in price for English meat or imported beef, but from March 15th all imported mutton will be Teduced to 9d, and lamb will be increased to Is Id per lb wholesale, with corresponding alteration in retail price. "Hemp—Manila market -weak and declining earlr this week, but at the close. Present quotations for J grade are: January-March shipment 4i73, April-June shipment .£69. A'ot much wheat is offering at the present time. Oats are a little quieter, though there is little if any quotable increase in prices. The demand for Algerians from the north has cased somewhat, in fact it is reported that northern millers are solliri~ in view of the fall in the Australian market. The northern iemand for crass seed is not quite as teen as was expected, and not a great deal is offered by farmers.
