A deputation from the .Tohnsonvillo School Committee, comprising Messrs V. O’Neill. F. H. T'uttor, S. 0. Kerry, Rov. Mr Isaacson, and G. Rodda, waited on tho Makara County Council at its meeting yesterday, requesting the council to grant a clear title to a block of land in Wakefield road, for tho purpose of forming a swimming bath for the Jolinsonvillo School. After the deputation had expressed its views, the council, after a discussion, carried tho following motion: “That this council cannot agree to tho transfer of the land unconditionally, but agrees.-, to lease for a period of ten years at -Cl per year tho same land on certain conditions, to bo mutually agreed upon.”
