STAFF PICNICS
MAKINE AND MACHINDEY INSPECTION DDVAKT.MENT. The Marine and Inspection of Machinery Departments, in conjunction with the Government .steamer lunemoa and the training ship Amokura, held its annual picnic at Day’s Bay. Iho weather, though threatening in the morning, later took a tarn for the better and was tints a considerable factor in the enjoyable day which was spent by all present. The party travelled to and from the bay in the s.s. iorawlnti, which was kindly lent by the Union Company. 'there was no lack of competition in connection with a lengthy spOrta programme, which _ was run oft, and tho results of the various events are given below. The thanks of the committee are due to all those individuals and firms who contributed to the prize fund. • The. sports results are as under;— Amokura Handicaps; Seniors, Herbert, 1, White 2; juniors, A.
