-SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS FOR WAIMATE’ SETTLED!ENT. rzn PRESS ASSOCIATION-. DAIIG.WILLE, February 25. Seventy applications were considered by the Laud Board to-day for the Waimato settlement. The following members of the Land Board were present;—Messrs R. P. Greville (Commissioner), A. Finlayson, Trunson, M. Aitkenhead, J, E. Wills and Forbes. Mr Edie represented the Returned Soldiers’ Association during the examination. Eleven were rejected, leaving 60 for tho ballot. The ballot resulted as follows: Section 1, 168 acres—Thomas Graham. Section 2, 310 acres —Jack Finlayson. Section 3, 319 acres—Oliver Oldfield. Section 4, 368 acres —S. Peterson. .Section o, 196 acres—G. B. Woods. Section 6, 336 acres—Dan Nash. Section 7, 242 acres—Randall Manson. Section 8, 306 acres—R. Swannck. Section 0, 323 acres—J. M. Clayton. Section 10, 249 acres—C. F. M. Turkingtou. Section 11, 373 acres —Michael J. Lyons. ; Section 12, 204 acres—Edward Russell. Section 13, 332 acres —A. L. Mckenzie. Section. 14, 536 acres R. Ellis. Section 15, 176 acres—D. K. Sutherland. BALLOT InYhE SOUTH, CHRISTCHURCH, February 25. A ballot to-day among discharged Soldiers for Robro Downs and Ben Chau runs, in the Mackenzie Country, resulted as follows:.— - j Area 13,031 acres—H. W. Scott (Timaru). 1£,400 acres D. A. S. Hughes (Cheviot). 16,320 acres—M. McGill (Temuka). 16,199 acres—J. Allan (Fairlie). 13,456 acres L. Lyford (Otiritiri). 13,161 acres—L. Si. Conolly (Peel Forest). There were over one hundred applicants for most of the runs.
