UNUSUAL PROSECUTION
UNLICENSED BILLIARD ROOM ATTENDANTS. An unusual charge of breaches of city by-laws regulations was heard before Messrs J. Salek and A. Hume, J.P.’s, at tho Magistrate's Court yesterday, when several billiard room attendants were clrarged with having failed to obtain licenses as billiard saloon attendants. Sergeant Lopdell said that no allegations of mismanagement were made, but contended that in the interests of the public the by-law must be complied with. Tho Ernest Aitken, Ernest J. Bowen, Edward Brookes, Pait. rick D. Corbett, John Feunaghty, John Ford, Herbert Lawrence, Arthur Smith and Thomas West, were convicted and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution, 7s each. Another attendant, Ronald J. Boyd, was discharged as ho had been only temporarily employed.
