FRESH FOOD AND ICE COMPANY’S CUP. RETAINED BY LEVIN RIFLE CLUB. The Whareroa Rifle Club _ (Paraparaumu) journeyed to Levin (writes'our correspondent) and the Levin Rifle Club, holders ox tho Fresh Food and Ico Company’s Cup. to a match for tho trophy. The home 'club were well prepared for the visitors and defeated them by 31 points. The day was fine, but tho light was very- changeable at times and was trying to marksmen, and there was also a tricky south-easterly wind blowing down tho range, which made matters worse. Tile Whareroa Rifle Club, although defeated, spent a very enjoyable day, and everyone enjoyed themselves. Riflcnlan W. Ingram, of Levin Rifle Club, was top scorer for tho day with 93 points, and Rifleman L. Catloy was runnor-up with 93 points. Conditions were 7 shots and sign ter at 200, 500, and 600 yards.
