TECHNICAL EDUCATION

THE WELLINGTON- COLLEGE. \ Tlio Board of Governors of the Wellington Technical College met last evening. The dhairman, -Sir George liTo.it, presided. There were also present;—'Messrs W. H. Bennett, O. E. Lawrence, G. Clark, L. McKenzie, T. Forsyth, and L. 11. Partridge. I) IB ECTOR'S REPORT. The director (Mr J. H. Howell) stated in his report to the hoard that during the Christmas vacation the resignation of Mr Griffin, B. Com., and Mr Stoupo, instructors in bookkeeping had been received. iMrs Campbell, a member of the day school staff, would take ono class in bookkeeping and with tho consent of the chairman, subject to the approval of the board, Mr Mourant had been offered the work of Griffin. Mr Mon rant was a former student of tho college, and of the Auckland Technical College, and was keen about his work. The director had confidence that he would prove a successful teacher. A vacancy had occurred in the architectural department, and Subject to tho board’s upptoval, this was being filled by Mr_F. E. Greenish, who had received his early training at tho excellent Technical College at Sydney. He now held both the F.N.E.I.A. and tho A.R.1.8.A., and had acted as examine# for the institute. The class would he hold in 33, Cuba street, and a. small room which was formerly used for typewriting would ho reserved for tho solo use of the architectural class. The report was adopted.
