SEPARATE POLITICAL BODY DEPRECATED. Australian i_nd N.Z. Cable Association. (Hfcceived February 23, 11.15 p.m.) WASHINGTON, February 23. Mr Samuel Gompers CPresident of the American Federation of Labour) announced that the American Federation was opposed to the formation of a Labour party. He said the effect of a separate political Labour party can only be disastrous to the wage-earners of the country and the interests of all the people. There is no hope of success of Labour party candidates. Then Labourites would defeat their friends and elect their enemies.
