MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. Tho Miramar Borough Council met last night. There were present: Tho Mayor (Mr S. Stone), and Councillors JS. J. Barnett, E. Corliss, B. J. Gardener, J. Hicks, and Mrs McVicar. The sum of £344 3s 9d was passed for payment out of the district fund account, which was reported to be in debit to the extent of £1976 2s 2d, while £73 2s 6d was passed for payment out of tho No. 2 account, which was in debit £3476 lis 2d. in a recommendation to the council, tho public works committee asked that tho by-laws dealing with tho storing of bathing, firearms, fires, erection of tents, posters, raffles, reserves, bo drafted.

In connection with the erection of the marine parade in cither concrete or stone, the council decided to call tenders for the completion of the work. On tho recommendation of tho borough treasurer, the council decided to quote the unsold debentures of the sewage loan at a pnoo to return 5J per cent.
