SAMOAN TRIP
RUMOURS REGARDING MOKOL-V. PBB PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, February 9. A rumour Which is often being repeated hangs persistently round tlio waterfront in respect to the Mokoia's projooted trip to Samoa, and the stibstance' 6f it is that the steamer will experience some, difficulty in getting away from New Zealand. Tho Mokoia is at present being fitted up for tho trip at POrt Chalmers, and the rumoured hold-up does not seem to bo applicable to the workmen who have been carrying, out the work required to bo done on board despite the fact that a number'of influenza cases hare had to be r«fntiv»<J fror>» ho».-
It was* reported to-day that further cases 6<f influenza had dovelopfd among tile crew of the Kaiapoi, which arrived at Pert Chalmers on Sunday evening from Wostport ami berthed alongside the- Mokoia to bunker that vessel. This morning the coaling operations did not go on, as the waterside workers declined to go on board tho Mokoia, because of tho influenza cases which are still developing on her. Tho Kaiapoi w;is haulcd to another berth to discharge into hulks.
