CRIMINAL SESSION
ALLEGED INDECENT OFFENCE. Tbe quarterly criminal session of the Supremo -Court was continued on Saturday the trial of tho youth Daniel Sterlhen Foley, on a charge that, at Itaiaitai on January 6tb, ho indecently assaulted a girl aged s«x years, being preceded. with. His Honour • Sir W. B. Edwards presided, Mr R. S. K. Macassey, of tho Crown X/aw Office, prosecuted, and Mr H. O’Leary defended the accused. After all the evidence had been suibmitted, tho jury inspected the ground whore the offence was alleged to have (been committed, and later Jis’teiicd to short addresses by counsel and the judge. 'The latter summed up against the 'prisoner, but after deliberating for fifteen fuinutes the 'twelve good moil and true returned a verdict of “not guilty,” and accordingly Foley was discharged.
