HOROWHENUA NOTES
(Special to the “Times.”) OTAIQ, FebruaryG. Mr J. Mackie, who lias boon a resident of Otaki for many years, during; which, time lie has identified,himself with local body matters, has sold his farm at Hangiuru to Mr Clolaud, of Waikanac, and with Mrs and Miss Mackie will shortly leave for pastures new. Their many friends will wish them God-speed wherever they go. During January seventeen births were registered in Foxton. There were two deaths and two marriage certificates issued.
At Foxton during January rain fell on eleven days, while the total fall was 4.50 inches. In Januarv, 1919, only 1.13 in fell.
Coal is a scarce commodity here, and what little is offering is being retailed at 3s Gd por cut. Mr and Mrs J. J.
