ANNEAL MEETING OF NEW ZEIALAND ASSOCIATION. I (From Our Special Reporter-) PALMERSTON N.>, November «. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association was: held hero to-day. Tho president, in his, report, stated-:—lt is pleasing f-o note; that interest in tho association,, has; spread to Canterbury and. Sonthland., Wo have enrolled a number o±’, the. best breeders from t hose district®. That in- ( terest has already been reflected in tin. fact that the majority of A-. and P-. As- 1 sociations now include classes for- inlik ing Shorthorns for their 'shows. In- ] creased activity has also bean shown In ■ tho North Island by h k««n demand' for high quality ‘animals of the milking! Shorthorns type and tho very satisfac-1 tory prices' realised at pedigree sales.; This is good evidence that the association's efforts, to raise the standard ! quality of milking Shorthorn cattle in. the Dominion are bote fully realised, Jor which they had every reason to feel proud. The aim of the association was to continue to maintain the highest standard of quality. The followinng officers Were elected : -- Patron. M>. J-- C. AVright AMatapn),. president, Mr A. W. Gncen (Hamilton); vit.fe-prOsidents, Messrs J. Parkinson (Opotiki) and S. G. Alorgah (Woodylueli vacancies on council. Messrs D. Buick and J-. R. Andersoii (Palmorstoh North) and A- Tqcker j treasurer, Mr D. Buick, , Mr W-. M, Singleton, Assistant-Dairy Commissioner, addiessed the meeting in reference to the regulation* -of the semiofficial test and issue of second-class certificate*. Suggestion*, were approved in this respect.
