IMPROVED ACCOMMODATION SECURED. Press Association. * February 17. , 1 ‘ As the result of a. conference with the Seamen’s Union,' the Union Company has agreed to provide improved accommodation for ’ seamen on about seventeen additional vessels. The company has also agreed to incorporate a clause in the seamen’s articles providing that seamen invalided on shore in New Zealand through illness or accident contracted In the service of the ship shall he granted the benefits of section 6 of the Shipping and Seamen’s Act.
