Remarkable revelations as to what forced Germany, to accept the original Armistice conditions were given in a speech at Heidelberg by Herr IFehfenbach, ex-President of the Reichstag. He stated that Dr Bolt-read the conditions to the members of the new and old Governments at the Chancellor's Palace on November 10th ; He afterwards read a telegram from von Hindenburg, saying tnat unless all the conditions were immediately accepted he would he compelled to capitulate, with the entire army. Hefr Ebert then put the question: "Who opposes? 1 ' ,-'■•., ,r« C 1 Herr Fehrenbach said: "There followed a terrible silence, which I hope I may never experience again." GERMANY'S LIMIT. (Received February 16, 5.5 p.m.) BEtRLLN, February 13. Interviewed, Herr Scheidemann, the newly-elected German Chancellor, said: "The Entente may conclude, peace according to their interests, but there is a limit for Germany, which may break off relations. We would not take up arms, but would leave the consequences for those who imagine they are able to bear them.',' ' ' , Herr Scheidemann added: 'I hope America will be able to convince the other Allies that it is to the interest of the whole world to see old Germany replaced by a new Social Democracy, rather than heap damning epithets upon Germany."
