PRIORITY PERMITS
« STATEMENT BY MINISTER. The Hon. Arthur M. Myers, Minister in Charge of Munitions and Supplies, states that the Government is in cable communication with the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, inquiring whether the present system of priority permits in vogue, is to be continued until the Ministry of Munitions in the United Kingdom signify that same is to be discontinued. On receipt of advice, an announcement will be made, so that parties interested may know the position. Meantime, the business is being carried on as heretofore. The Minister is given to understand from a cablegram which has been, received from tho High Commissioner that a number of unexecuted orders which ho has supported are subject to cancellation at the termination of hostilities. The Minister, therefore, would appreciate advice from business houses and municipalities concerned so that his department may bo ablo to act in their best interests.
