NOTES AND COMMENTS (By "Tohunga.") The Wellington owner who races as iVLr Whitney has had a remarkable success with Rosa Pink over the. past few weeks. Three starts and three wins is "a. very' creditable performance. The mare returned her supporters great prices for her three wins. . , ,-\ , The Champion Plate, run at the next Wellington meeting will not see ,/tLe brilliant fields it has in the past. Of course the race has never been numerically strong, but. quality has been represented always; Desert Gold won the race three, years in succession, • and befor her Danube. JNone of those fields were large, but the essence was there. The Waikanao stud bears a maternity appearnce at present, most of the mares having dropped their foals. The gnmbolings of the youngsters at Waikanae are a treat to witness.
