MASTERTON COMPLAINT
A DANGEROUS CROSSING RAILWAY DEPARTMENT BLAMED (Special to "Times.") MASTEIirON, September 27. Near the Masterton railway station there is a very dangerous railway crossing known_ as the Lincoln road crossing, Many accidents have occurred there throuch collisions between vehicles and trains or been narrowly averted. The Railway Department several times' has beon written to by local bodies pointing out the danger of the crossing, but has turned the requests down with various excuses. Another serious accident occurred at the crossing this week, the victim now being in hospital in a precarious condition, while next day another accident was narrowly averted. The Chamber of Commerce this afternoon decided once again to protest to the Railway Department against its neglect of an obvious duty in not doing something to prevent accidents at the orossing. ■
