(From Our Own-Correspondent.) MASTERTON, September 26. ■' Private 11. J. Baillie, son of Mr and , Mrs J. F. Baillie, of Eketahuna, and formerly of Masterton, has died from j wounds. , i

Private J. Burgess, of Clareville, has > been killed in action. Deceased was a brother of Mr H. R. Burgess, of : Parkvale, and had been eighteen months ( on active service. He enlisted at Auckland, where he had resided for some ' time previous to going to the front. . Lieutenant E. E. Farnsworth, M.M., of Masterton, was killed in action on ; September 13th. Deceased was thirty- ; three years of age. He left-with the i Ninth Reinforcement, and won a com- t mission on the field. He was formerly ; a guard in the service of the Railway , Department. A widow and seven-year-old son are left, and reside in Masterton. ! Gunner George Wagg, son of Mr T. .? Wagg, of Masterton, has again been ,i wounded in action. ■ Privates Rutherford (Taueru), Kerins j (Masterton). Larsen (Mauriceville), and Coe (Masterton) _ returned home by the last hospital ship. Lance-Corporal W. C. Hales, of Whaka- ... taki, was wounded on August 30th. Privates R. L. Harvey (Opaki) and F. Nash (Masterton) have been wounded in , action. i Tbe "A” class championship of the 4 Masterton Miniature Rifle Club bas been -j won by W. Winslade (aggregate 814), and the “B” class bv W.
