Sergeant J. W. Clnyson (Military Medal) has been killed in action. The deceased, who was born*in Masterton, was a stepson of Mr F. D. Polling, of Eketahuna, and a brother of Mr Bryce Olay son, of Master ton. Ho was for a long number of years employed at the Eketahuna branch of the W.F.C.A., apd was also in that firm’s employ at the Wellington branch. Sergeant Clayson, who was about forty years of age, was prominent in football circles in the Ekotahunn district some years back, and his genial disposition made him popular amongst his comrades. The bereaved relations will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in tho loss of a son and brother, whose bravery oh the battlefield had earned such a distinction as a Military Medal.
