CAPPELLI'S FAREWELL SEASON.
On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nest Signor Cappelli, the famous Italian operatic tenor, will give three concerts in the Grand Opera House, and bring to a- conclusion what is regarded as probably the most successful concert tour over known in this country. Last week three concerts were given in Auckland, and on each occasion hundreds were unable to gain admission. Of the fifth and final concert in. Dunedin, the "Otago Daily Times”, says:—"Very rarely has a singer enthused a Dunedin audience as has Cappelli, the golden throated tenor. When it came to his final numbers, tho applause which had been generous throughout the evening increased in volume until cheers rent the air. It was a remarkable demonstration.’’ For the three concerts to bo given in Wellington special programmes have been arranged, and all the artists will contribute new numbers. A young soprano, Miss Natilina McCallum, has recently joined the company, and she is reported to have made A very great success in Auckland, Christchurch, and other towns. Mr John Amadio. the brilliant flautist, Luoien Ccsaroni, the popular basso, and Mr Harold Whittla, accompanist, will all make walcoma reappearances.
