The Governor-General held an investiture of the Order of the British Empire this afternoon, the recipients being:—Mr Clark, Mayor of Dunedin, badge of the third class. Mesdames Bessland (Dunedin), Forrester (Dunedin), Hawke '(lnvercargill), Misses Burt and McLean (Duhoflin), Thomson (Invercargill), Messrs Stead (Mayor of Invercargill), Thomson (Invercargill), badges of the fifth class. I At the Kensington drill hall thii evening. Lord Liverpool presented th following military decorations: —• Military Cross to the relatives o : Major Horwood, Captains Morrison am Hill, Lieutenant Campbell, Second Lieutenants Morrison and McQueen. Military Medal —To the relatives/oi Sergeant Sinclair. I D.C.M.—To the relatives of Corporal Lepper, Private Lainschbury.
