ITS OBJECTS AND POLICY. The future policy of the Navy League stall bo directed towards the achievement of the following objects, states a memorandum drawn up by tho London Executive : ... .- 1. The dissemination among the peoples of tho Empire and British subjects in all parts of tho world exact knowledge upon the provision and use of Sea Power as the keystone of British National Imperial policy. ' 2. Tho advocacy of an all-powerful Navy, Air Force, and Mercantile Marine as the factors essential for the security of the Empire, and the restoration of. Britain to its rightful position as Mistress of the Seas. 3. The immediate reconstruction of our mercantile tonnage to at least the prewar standard before any foreign orders for tho building of merchant slaps are executed, and tho demand that there shall bo no transfer of British shipping to foreign owners or flags until British mercantile supremacy shall have been restored. • ' i. The application of steady pressure upon Parliament and tho Government, through the education of public opinion, for closer co-ordination between the Loyal Navy and tho Mercantile Marino with a view to/tho exigencies ‘of war. 5. The support of all just claims of officers and men of the Royal Nary with regard to pay, pensions, and prize money. 6. The stimulation of interest among tho teachers and children of all classes of schools in tho Empire in the Sea and Air Services as dominant factors in Imperial existence and prosperity. 7. The extension of the Boys’ Naval Brigade Movement nnd the establishment of proper training institutions with the view of the preparation of boys for a sea career whenever possible, for the elimination of aliens from the British Mercantile Marine. 8. Tho administration of tho funds provided at tho instance of tho league at Home and overseas for the relief of tho dependents of tho men of the sea services who have lost their lives in tho war, and for the education and apprenticeship of their children.
