MEETING OF THE 'COUNCIL.
A meeting ot the Victoria College Council, was held last evening, Mr C. Watson, presiding. The , committee recommended that the appeal by the council against.the calling up of Mr H. E. Strawhridge for,,, military service he dropped, and thatUMr 11. C.‘ Sherman be appointed, during the absence of the former, as mechanic for the Physios Department. This was adopted. Canterbury College Board suggested that the Westland and Grey districts be brought into the Canterbury district; ’ A motion was passed approving of this suggestion. It was recommended that the sum of £3500 on fixed deposit in the Bank of ,^ ealan<J > '"’hich matures on the 27th ins t., be re-invested in the Bank of Now Zealand on fixed deposit for two years. ■ Accounts amounting to £1386 2s lid were passed for payment.
