In support of this feature is Episode Three- of "TJie Mystery 0 f the Double Cross." OKIGAN RECITALThe Town Hall was attended by an appreciative audieuce on the occasion of tho weekly recital last night by the city organist (Mr B. F. Page;. Tine introductory overture was by Beethoven—"Coriolan," played with boldness; also delicacy. Sweet expression signalised the succeeding pieces in the first part oi tho programme. These we-re the beautiful third movement from "Forest Scenes," by Coleridge-Taylor; an "Iriylle"* and "Au Soiiy' by d'Evry; and tho third movement from "Scheheraz.ado"—a symphony by iiimsky-Korsa-koif. The second portion of the programmo comprised the four sections of the popular ''Peer Gynt" Suite by Grieg. THE PIERROTS. The present programme of the English Pierrots is one of the best selections from their i-orertoire. Those present in the concert chamber of the Town ifaii last night gave token of this by their wholehearted enthusiasm. This choice selection of items will be giv6u for the last time to-night. Tho weekly change will be given to-morrow night, when tlie pierrots .promise to excel themselves. THE "Klitraj BIRDS." There was a. good attendance at t!h« Wesley Hall, Taranaki street, last night, at tho entertainment given by "fae Blue Birds," in aid of tho gift fund for members of the Young Men's BiMe Class now serving at the front. Ittio Joud apiplause, the hearty laughter, and the frequent encores showed that tho excellent programme, presentsd 'was greatly appreciated. Miss Dix recited "Before and After" in very taking stylo, and also distinguished horselt, along wjth Messrs Fuller and Fisher, in the comic sketch "Fortune Favours Fools." Mr Gardiner was well heard in the fine solo, ''lnvictus." Messrs Pell, Strong, Daniels, and Gardiner rendered the quartette, "Every Rustling Tree," very effectively, responding to a. hearty encore with "Simple Simon'' as an anthem eoniique. Messrs Daniels and Strong earned a well-deserved' encore by their duet, "The Battle Hv»"; and Mr Long's monologue, "Dcvil-May-Care," was loudly recalled. Mr Woodward's banjo solo, "They're 3. Long Way from their Homeland,'' was greatly enjoyed ; a spirited hunting song was contributed by Messrs Strong, Daniel, and Fisher; and a good comic song, "My 0!d Baboon," by Mr Stokes. Considerable mirth was provoked by a Medical Board skwtch, and tho opening and the final choruses by "The Bluo Birds'" were very admirably rendered.
