RECENT CASUALTIES

LIEUTENANT STANLEY HUNTINGTON. Further particulars of the death or Lieutenant Stanley Huntington, havo been received by the parents of deceased, who reside at Ngaio. The O.C. to which Lieutenant Huntington belonged says that they had been a. few days in the line when suddenly, without any warning, the enemy opened a very heavy bombardment, and after three hours he attacked. It was during the .enrly part of the bombardment that Lieutenant Huntington was rather badly wounded in the thigh and groin. At the time ho was standing m the trench directing his men to get I into a trench in front, where the shellI ing was not so heavy—regardless of tho danger to himself. He was taken to the dressing station, and was later j seen by stretcher-bearers, who said that, though in "considerable pam, no was cheery and hopeful. CAPTAIN COLINI. DIOKESON. Captain Colin A. Dickeson, M.C., reported killed in action, was the son of the late Mr George ¥. Dickeson, of ivaikohe. He was thirty years of age, and received his early education at the Hamilton High School, being well known in the "Waikato as a footballed and athlete. Ho was apprenticed to JVIr Holman, architect, of Auckland, and subsequently went to London to continue his studies. He passed the highest examinations and received the diploma A.8.1.8.A. with honours in June, 1914. Returning to New Zealand, he enlisted in January, 1015, and went into camp as a nan. commissioned officer in the Bth Keinforcemeiit. He gained his commission and left with the 11th Reini'oraement. He wns rapidly promoted, and after being for some time in Egypt and England, was appointed captain ana adjutant of the Cyclists Battalion, 2nd Anzac Corps.
