• I \ c / eren , to the shortage of dentists in New Zealand was made by Mr A. M. Carter, a member of the executive of tlie Now Zealand Dental Association, at the sitting of the Auckland Military Service Hoard when appealing for the exemption of a number of dentists practising in various parts of Now Zealand. Mr Carter stated that owing to the large number of dentists who had been called to cantf) tho shortage was now so acute that tho association lolt it would bo necessary to make appeals where it‘ was previously thought such action would bo unnccopsary. lie also stated that the work at the local Dental Hospital was being carried on by one stipendiary dentist and one assistant, and they were quite unable to copo with the work required to he dene for the children who attended the hospital.
