LAMES' ASSOCIATION. The fifth series of games in the first round of the ladies’ competition was played at Karori Park on Saturday. The star game, that between Eambera and University, turned out an easy win for the former. The University team after the first few minutes' play went to pieces, the wing-forward spoiling the play of the backs by keeping too far back, the fine defence put up by the goal-keeper saving . time after time, while the Ramblers played with great combination, every player keeping her place. Wellington Girls’ College A, after a good fight, won from Public Trust. The match. Base Records-Huahati, proved' a very exciting game, both, teams showing great improvement. Pay Department v, Wellington Girls’ College B, after a fast and interesting game, resulted in a draw. Details are as follow SENIORS. Ramblers v. University.—From, the start University carried play, and for a few minutes had Ramblers on the defence. Prom a free hit Ramblers rushed play into University quarters, and Miss S. Simon put the finishing touch by finding the net. Ramblers, keeping up the attack, had several shots at goal, hut the fine defence of the University goal-keeper saved. From a corner hit Alias, Lang got one past. Just before half-time Aims Pickering scored the third goal for Ramblers. In the second sped Ramblers had all the best of the play, their passing and placing being far and away the best seen this season. Goals were eoored by Misses Wilkins (3 each), Pickering {J}, and Lang (1). Ramblers won by 9 to nil. Mr Jones was referee.

Wellington Girls’ College A v. Public Trust.—Trust started v.'u', getting the best of the play in the early stages, and Miss McDonald scoring. From a forward passing rush Miss B. Walker scored for College. In the second spell play for a (Kino was very even, but the better combination of the College team soon forced tho play to their opponents’ quarters, and goals wero scored by Misses Martin, Walker, and Gore. Just before the call of time Trust forwards getting the ball, and passing with groat judgment, carried play into College's circle, Miss Qilfidder scoring. Tho game ended in favour of CoLego by -1 goals to 1. Mr R. J. Lloyd was referee. Pay Department v. Wellington Girls’ College B.—ln tho first spell College had all the best of the play, scoring two goals to nil. Misses Bedell and Bowie being the scorers. In the second spell .Pay Department turned the tables on their opponents, showing to great advantage in passing rushes. Miss Thompson and Keanneley scoring. Tho game ended in a draw. Mr A. C. Wheatley had charge of the game. ■Base Records v. Iluahati.—This proved a most interesting and exciting game, play travelling from end to end every fow minutes, and at the call of time neither side had scored, tho game resulting in a draw. Mp F. Spiers carried the whistle. JUNIORS.

To Aro School v. Wellington Girls’ College—ln the first spell play was even neither sido scoring, in the second spoil To Aro in the early singes had all the best of tho play scoring two goals, both scored by Hiss MoKennon, while Miss Adanis just before tho call of time scorea for College. To Aro winning by 2 goals to 1. Sir B. Burn was rofereo. Y.W.C.A. won by default over Pay Department. MEN'S COMPETITIONS, Tho men’s competitions advanced another stage on Saturday, Trentham A by tlliolr turn takes leading position witii 8 points, while tho B team, with 7 points, fills second place. Trontham A v. Y.M.C.A. B.—-Trontham all through had the best o fa well-fought game, tho play at time was very intorcslin gboth sides showing great improvement in their play, if anything Treutham had the best combination, their forwards passng wth good judgment, while tho defence of tho backs wore good. Y.M.C.A. lost several chances to score by over running tho ball and to hard hitting when near tho circle. Scores were made by Harman (2), Norton (1) for Trontham. and Tandy (1) for Y.M. Trantham winning by 3 goals to 1. Mr p. Spiers was referee. Trontham B v. Karori. Trentham from tho bully off rushed play into Karori’s quarters, and for n timo had them hard defending, oft-sido play spoiled their chance of scoring, for a time Karori’s forced them back, from a free-hit Trcntham carried tho ball into tho circle, and Champness scored, Trentham still keeping the upper hand. A.—Feathef* sbon proved too good for their opponents, defeating them by 5 goals to 2. In the first spell Featherston scored 3 goals, scorers being Shepherd, Voss, and Wig gins, while Bascand scored for Y.M. In the second spell Salak. and Wiggins each scored for Featherston, and Hogan for the T.M.C.A. Hr J. Lloyd was referee. Ramblers v. Base Records.—Ramblers had all the best of the gome with Bass Record, defeating them by five goals to nil. Tate and Smith scoring in the first spell, while Tate (2), Knoh (1) were t|.e scorers in the second spell. Mr A. lidwards carried the whistle. Fay Department v. Y.M.C.A. C.—Pay Department got all over T.M., and winning by five goals to nil, the scorers were Wall, Morse. Clarke, Lilias, and Hollis.' Mr A. C. Pragnall was referee. The Karori team, during the gave on Saturday, wore a white band on the arm as a mark of respect to a former member of the team, who has been tilled in action.
