TEMPORARY APPOINTMENTS.
Tlie following temporary appointments have been approved by the Camp Commander (Colonel H.R. Potter, C.M.G.)
42nd Reinforcement.—Sergeants C. H. Archer, F. Egan, D. J. Law to be company sergoants-major. Training Cla^s.—O.S.M". N. M. P. Green to be R.Q.M.S. Headquarters.—Sergeants P. H/ Knight, J. A. Dunbar to hft staff sergeants; Corporals J. Cargill, J. A. Johnson to bo sergeants; Privates H Appleton, C. Shilock, H. Furner, V. S. Labait, T. Jameson, J., Langley, W. Diamond, J. A. Rcnwiek. H. S. Wiulus, C. F. Thomas to be corporals. FEATHERSTON.
Colonel N. P. Adams, C.M.G., Camp Commandant, has approved of tho following temporary appointments:—Privates L. A. Fulton, F. W. R. Mardon, W. M. Robertson, and D. J. Stewart, of the 42nd Specialist Company, to be lance-corporals, and Bombardier R. E. Dovey, of tho 41st N.Z.F.A., to be temporary corporal. Gunner A. Brown, of the 42nd Artillery, has also been appointed corporal. A party of n.c.o.’s and men of tho 40th Medical Corps Reinforcement oavo been transferred from the Racecourse hospital to Awapuni Camp, Sergeant S. J. Collett and Pmata J. Kilpatrick, of tho Army Pay Department at Featherston, have" been transferred to the same office at Trentham.
Staff S.M. J. Harris, of tho N.Z. Permanent Staff, has departed from Featherston Camp for duty with tho R.N.Z.A. Headquarters in Wellington. The cup presented by the Camp Commandant for the best-kept huts and lines, has been awarded to tho 40th. Specialist Company for the week ended Juno 15th. The 42nd Field Artillery were second in the competition. Staff Sergeant Bryant, of the Pay Department, is now attached to Tauherenikau Camp. He was originally in tho Featherston office.
Tho concerts which havo been arranged for various towns, to pay part of the purchase money for the Cl Band instruments, start to-night at the Fcatherston Town Hall. The Cl Band, orchestra. and Pierrot company combine to fill the programme. On Tuesday tho camp band, under R.S.M. McConnell, will giro the third <vf ite series of descriptive concerts.
The Bartlett Studios are open on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, 7 to 9 o’clock, for tho particular convenience of men from Fcathcrston and Trcntham Camps, for electric light sittings, 19, Millis street, Wellington. *
