At board 11 the local player, who had previously lost a piece through misreading a move, fought a gallant rearguard action, on t. had to lower his Colours at move 38. Beard 12 viewed Wellington a win, qns already reported. MrC’W Tapmn- at board 12 played a difficult ending faultlessly and scored for the lofal club at move 10. first of this year’s “homo and home matches between the above clubs was play ad at Ngaio on Monday evening. when the home team scored a meritorious win, this being their first success in the annual fixture that was inaugurated four years ago.
