HAWKE’S BAY CASES. Press 'Association. NAPIER, Juno 15. In the Supremo Court to-day, Charles Murphy and John Pctterson were charged with stealing a motor-car and six gallons of petrol Irom W. E. Campbell. The evidence showed that the accused took the ear from outside the Hastings Picture Theatre and drove to Waipukurau. leaving the car there. The jury found the accused guilty of stealing the petrol, and both wore admitled to in-obation. Pirihira iloana, a Maori woman, for false pretences was sentenced tc twelve mouths’ reformative treatmem.
