CAMP NOTES

FEATHDBSTON. Colonel N. P. Adams, C.M.G., Camp Commandant, has approved of tie following temporary appointments:— JjanoeCorporals <J. B. Janiioson and B. T. Murray, of the 39th Specialists, to be corporals; Privates V. M. Ambler and J. A. Tinnock, of the same unit, to be lanoe-oorpoiraia. Corporal J. Kent-John-ston, of the P.E.A.S.C., has been appointed sergeant, and Sergeant H. W. Bullock, of the 42nd N.Z.F.A., has been promoted to the rank of battery sergeantmajor; Sergeants B. W. Cowdray and 8. Wilson, of the Headquarters Instructional Staff, have been appointed temporary regimental sergeant-majors and Company SetgeantxMajor T. C. Chalmers, also of the Headquarters Instructional Staff, has been made regimental sergeantmajor.

Sergeant L. Bastings, Corporal P. Lewis, and two men of the N.Z.M.C., at A-svapuni. are transferred to Feathorston.

Staff-Sergeant J. Blackbourn, of the pay office, has been transferred bo the office of the. officer in charge of war expenses, Wellington. Captain P. A. Scannell, of the Medical Corps, has arrived in camp from Aivapuni, and has taken up duties with, his branch of the service.

A concert is being held by tho CI Band Orchestra and Concert Company in the Feather.iton Town Hall on Monday next. The proceeds are to pay oft a part of the purchase money fox new band instruments. The same combination of talent will give a now programme at Greytown on Thursday next, with the samo benefit in view.

On Tuosdny next the camp hand, under SsTtteant-Maior HoCbnnell. will give a concert in the Salvntion Army Institute in Featherston camp. Colonel MacDonald, C.M.G.. chief infantry instructor, was at Fonthc-rston enrop Ho returned to Trentham by the express last evening.

The Bmrtlett Studios are open on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, 7 to 9 o'clock, for the particular convenience of men from Pcatherston and Trentham Camps, for eloctrio light sittings. 19, Willis street. Wellington.
