CLAIMS FOR INCREASED WAGES. Prera Association. .BTJNEDIN, June 14. It is understood that as a result of the activities of miners, principally'on the West Coast, the Hon. W. D. S. MacDonaW, Minister for Mines, has ar- , ranged » conference in Wellington on Jane 19th; between the owners and representatives of the miners, to consider claims for increased wages. Another matter which is likely to come before the conference concerns the refusal of exemption from military service of those men on the West Coast who came out on strike some months ago because comrades declined to pay a levy for the relief of strikers in New South Wales.
