JU/r Creagh urged that it was only a question of timo when the inner harbour would bo blocked up entirely. M present, be said, it was impossible to bring any boat in which was drawing not less than fifteen feet, «jid there was danger to boats coming in unless their draught was much less than fifteen feet. Ilio chairman said it was incorrect to sny tho channel was silting up. There certainly wore patches of silt in tho channel, but tho dredge was able to cope with thorn. There was a groat deal of silt moving and ono jiatch had given a groat deal of trouble, but generally there had been a groat deal of improvement in tho depth of water between the piers. While the board's operations were in progress there would be a groat deal of silt coming down stream.
