NEW ZEALAND FRIESIANS
AT THE SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW.
The following extract taken from the Sydney “Dairy Bulletin” will bo of interest to readers:—“The Oluny Friesian Farm Co., of Trentham. New Zealand, entered" two bulls, which attracted much attention during the whole of the show> and which, apart from show qualities, in which neither was wanting, showed perhaps the highest milking tlu&iities of any of the Fricsians shown. Both bulls were of unusual depth and spring of rib the younger one, ‘Cluny King Mechhilde Buttercup,’ only eighteen months of age, measuring more by. five inches round the barrel than any other bull in the show up to three years of age. The texture of the hair, the colour and feel of the skin, the secretions, the escutcheon, the rudimentaries, and all other indications of milk were in great evidence in Both bulls. The owners state that the heifers of the senior bull, which have calved to date are without a single exception turning out great milkers, and anyone who critically examined! the bull will not hesitate to accept their statement, the junior bull was placed first in bis class at Palmerston North, the premier dairy show in Now Zealand, ho also took first prize as a yearling. A great career for him can bo safely predicted, for he already promises to boat bis siro, who is uo ordinary bull.”
