GREETINGS FROM GENERAL BIRDWOOD
ANZAC TRADITIONS BEING UPHELD. His Excellency the Governor-Gen-eral has received the following cablegram from General Sir William Birdwood :• — On this, the third anniversary of Anzac Day, I desire to convey the greetings of tlio members of tlio Australian Imperial Force to the people of New Zealand, and to assure them that the New Zealand and Australian troops are continuing to uphold the groat traditions established on April 25th, 1915. The many months during which New Zealand and Australian troops fought literally shoulder to shoulder in the common cause can never be forgotten by either. All who are fighting today realise that the safety and honour of their home and people are as much in their safe custody as they wore three years ago, and in this trust they will not fail. —(Sgd.) Birdwood.
