Captain Frank R-FH, who was recently awarded the MiWaiT Cross, is the fourth son of Mr and ills C. Nuttall, St. Albans Ho was in England when the war broke out, and joined tho Royal Flying Corps, first as a mechanic, and later as a pilot. Ho served in France, Egypt, and later in Mesopotamia, where ho .won trio decoration for conspicuous gallantry and daring when in enemy territory. Seeing another machine driven down hy hostile fire, ho glided to earth in his single seator under heavy fire, dispersing tho enemy with his machine-gun. Ho took tho stranded pilot on board, speedily rose in tho air, and, though still under fire, got safely away. _By his prompt and courageous action ho rescued a comrade who would otherwise have been taken prisoner, states tho Christchurch “Sun.”
The Christchurch “Sun” states that Private Daniel Harvey, of the 16th Reinforcements, killed in action, was a son of Mr and Mrs Robert Harvey, of Southbridgo, and was twenty-three years of ago. Ho was horn and educated at Southbridgo, and was employed in Christcnurch, where he was well known as a member of tho Marists Footabll Club and tho Avon Rowing Club. His brother, Robert, was killed at Messines last year.
Mr A. J .MoEldownoy, a. well-known resident of Wellington, and a member of tho firm of McEldownoy Bros, has entered camp as a Y.M.O.A. secretary, and on arrival at Fcatherston Camp yesterday waa mob by tho Fcatherston secretary, Mr A.
