CAMP NOTES

FEATHERSTON,

Second Lieutenant Raines, who returned some months ago from the front, ha s been transferred to Base Records. Mr Raines has been on tho Headquarters' Instructional Staff of the CI Camp. Captain D. G. Smith ,of the Headquarters Staff, has been transferred from Papawai Camp to Featherston M.O.

Hon. Lieutenant A. G. Barlow, N.ZP.S., who has been quartermaster at Tauherenikau for some N time, has relinquished his appointment and rank, and Captain T! Somervillo ha s been appointed in his stead. '. Lieutenant Barlow has reverted to S.S.M. (W. 0.) and has been transferred to tho Ma-chine-Gun Section of the 36th Specialists Company. Staff Sergeant D. H. Craig has been transferred from Trentham to Records Office, Featherston.

The following officers have been transferred to Trentham -Details for the 40th Reinforcements : —2nd Lieu : tenant S. B- Probert. 2nd Lieutenant L. M. Moriarty, 2nd Lieutenant G. A. Wis-liart, 2nd Lieutenant R. Thompson, 2nd Lieutenant H. G. Bell, 2nd Lieutenant J. F. Bjuddy, 2nd Lieutenant D. E. Neave.

A, bowling.club is being formed in 'the Featherston Camp, and arrangements for preparing a green are in hand.. Chaplain Captain Carter has been appointed president of the club. Second Lieutenant G. Fitzsimmons has been transferred to C Company of the 39th Reinforcement.

A tennis tournament, open, to all soldiers, is to be held on the Featherston courts on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of Easter week. The Camp Commandant, Colonel NP. Adams. C.M.G., ha s approved of the following temporary appointments: J. FJ. Elliott, of the Dental Corps, Tauherenikau, to be sergeant; Corporal Wills, bandmaster, Tauherenikau, on- Headquarters Instructional Staff, Gl Camp, to' be temporary sergeant; Q.M..S. J. A. Thomas, of A Company, 38ths, to bo regimental quartermaster sergeant (temporary); Private E. B. Logan, of the Canteen Staff,- Tauherenikau, to bo temporary corporal; Private C. A. Setter, of tilie Canteen Staff, to be corporal; Corporal H. G. Porteous, of tho 40th N.Z. Field Artillery, to be temporary sergeant. ■
