GRAND OPERA HOUSE

J. C. WILLIAMSON’S NEW MUSICAL COMEDY COMPANY. .

The box plans for the six nights’ presentation of ‘‘You’re in Love,” by J. C. Williamson’s new English. Musical Comedy Company, will be opened at 8 o'clock this morning at the Bristol Piano Company. ‘‘You’re in Love” will bo staged for the first time in Wellington at the Grand Opera House on Saturday evening. Critics in Australia described "You’re in Love” as a. daring, picturesque,, brilliant, tuneful, and humorous creation, and their prediction that it would enjoy a long run proved correct, as it held the boards in Sydney and Melbourne for over six months. The departure of Miss Dorothy Brunton created a gap in the ranks of the new English Musical Comedy Company, which, reports say, has been admirably filled by Miss Maude Fane. Miss Connie Ediss is a genius in her own particular line, and it is said she Is at her best in the comedy scenes. Ur Alfred Frith and Mr Field Fisher are two of the most artistic comedians who have come here from London, and Mr Wm. Greene is a brilliant young actor, wno has a pleasing tenor voice, Jlr Jack Hooker, Miss Madge Elliott, Mr Tom Preston, and Miss Gwen Withers are a, quartette of dancers who will present some brilliant and clever ballets. The scenery and dresses, it is s*ud. will eclipse in magnificence anything yef, seen .in New Zealand. The second production here will be "Canary Cot tage.” ■
