LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
VALIDICTORY SPEECHES. The Legislative Council met at 10.30 a.m. yesterday, the Acting-Spaekcr (the Hon. W. C. F. Carnoross) in the chair. The Appropriation Bill was put through all its stages and passed without discussion. The Council met later at 11.40 a.ra., when the Appropriation reported as approved by the Governor-Gene-ral. , . Sir Francis Bell thanked members tor thoir consideartion and attention, during the session ,and referred in high terms of praise to t v Hc nranner in which Iho Acting-Speaker had conducted tno business of the Council. Sir Francis also referred feelingly to recent bGrea\cments in the Council. ». . .. The Hou. Captain Baillic, Sir William Hall-Jones, Hons. O. Samuel. A. 1. Maginnity, W. Earnshaw, and G. Carson also spoke. ... t Before moving the ad]Ournment the Hon W. C. F. Carncross thanked members'for their consideration and attention, and thanked the oflmers of the Council for their work. He hoped that by next session the many vacant seats in the Council would be filled. The Council then adjourned.
