Dr Wood Hutchinson, lecturing before tho Royal Society of Medicine, said that of wounded men surviving for six hours 90 per cent, recover, 93 per cent, if they reach tho hospitals, owing to tho masterly anti-infection control. Despite the colossal increase in instruments of slaughter, this war was one of the least deadly wars yet fought in comparison to the numbers engaged.
