IRON AND BRASS MOULDERS
PEIOCUKB A KEW AWAKD. A meertin? was held yesterday at the Conciliation Council offices between the' Iron and Erase Moulders' Union and the employers to discuss claims by the men for the new award. Mr W. H. Hagger, Conciliation. Commissioner. presided, phe employers were represented by Messrs Crabtree, Mitchell and Robertson as assessors, and Messrs Phillips. Hall and Ferguson acted aa assessors for the union. The following are the principal terms of settlement Forty-seven. hours' work per week. Journeymen moulders' wages were increased from .Is 6d to Is 7Jd per hour. Machine moulders from Is 8d to Is per hour. Most of the other clauses were in terms of the old award. The award is to operate throughout the Wellington industrial district, and will come into force on the Wth ins/t. It will operate for two years. Alt the conclusion of the proceedings both parties complimented . the Commissioner on his efforts in achieving a successful result.
