REPRESENTATIVE MATCH
WELLINGTON TEAM TO MEET AUCKLAND. The following team has been selected to represent Wellington against Auckland on Saturday next: —Full-back, Morton; three-quarters. Corner, Aitkcn, Jackson, A. Thomas; five-eighths. Coles, Porter: half-back, Nioholls; forwards, Pole, Scott, Desmond, Craddick, Hislop, Black, Baker. Emergencies—Forwards, Bowers, Slater; backs, Sherriok, Cowie.
RUGBY UNION
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEHTB. The management committee of the Wellington Football Union met last night, (hero being present: Messrs D. D. Weir (chairman), A. C. Kitto, "W. J. Millard, A. C. Ward, Montgomery, Robertson, and Donovan. All games postponed last Saturday on account of the bad weather will be pi ay eel on Saturday, September 15th. The secretary of the Poton© Club furnished the birth certificates of two players who were reported to be over ago. The matter was held over. A player of the Poneke Football Club who twice appeared before the union to swear as to his ago. and who repeatedly said that he was born in Scotland, was suspended for five years. A birth certificate forwarded by the Registrar-Gen-eral certified him to have been born in Christchurch in 1895, making him ineligible to play senior grade. The captain of the Poneke team, owing to his neglect in the matter, was suspended, tor three months, commencing next April. The arrangements are well in hand for the Auckland-Wellington match, to be played at the park on Saturday, and it only needs the support of the public U make it a success. A special feature of this game will he the abolishing of the wing-forward.
