ANOTHER ADJOURNMENT MIADE. The case o£ the New Zealander Hotel came up at tile'quarterly meeting of the ■licensing Bench yesterday and was again adjourned on , account of .• the absence ,or Air. yv. Tiller and R., Fletcher, M-P. : ' The acting-chairman stated that .the police report recorded that all the ii-. Caused houses in’Wellington were wed conducted with the exception of the ie Aro’and New Zealander Hotels. With regard to the New Zealander Hotel a’ third objection had been lodged. Mr T. Young said that, in relation to the New Zealander Hotel he appeared for itrs Phillips. Mr H. F. O’Leary, who represented Mr - Phillips, had had to go to Blenheim on Saturday, and an adjournment was desired, an application having" been nut in for a transfer of the license to Mr ’ ilunro. - . Mr A. Gray, K.C.. who appeared for 'fhe owners of the 'hotel, explained that an action had been commenced in the; Supreme’Court to get possession of the property; In. the meantime a transfer to any .pUtside party would bo objected to. Inspector Marsack, for the police, stated that since the last objection the conduct of the hotel, if anything, had deteriorated. He was prepared with a moss of evidence to put before the bench, and obected to an adjournment. • . Hr Young mentioned that Mr- Phillips had been drawn in that day’s ballot. The bench decided to adjourn'the case, until 10. SO a.m. on September 39th.
