An old and respected resident of Napier, in the person of Mr Andrew Gilmouv. died at his residence, Brewester Ipne, Napier, on Friday evening, 3 ,t the age of 73. The deceased, who was well known throughout Hawke's Bay, leaves a large circle of friends. He was = a native of the North of Ireland, came to the Dominion in the early 'sixties, and fought through the Maori war. For many years too deceased was road overseer for the Waipawa County Council. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family of four sons and four danghters. Mr Edward Walter Gotch. who was for many years an officer of the Customs Department, passed away early on Sunday morning at his residence at Wadestown, aged 77 years. Deceased, who was born in. London, went to Australia at an early age, and was for soma time in business at West Maitland. Later he came to New Zealand, where, at Opotiki he engaged successfully in the cultivation of tobacco. Afterwards he entered the Customs service, and was stationed at Wellington nntil his retirement on. pension upon reaching the age limit twelve rears ago. He took on active part in Wadestown local affairs until' prevented by frequent illnesses during the last few rears. Mr Gotch is survived by his wdfe and by one son and one daughter.—Mr E. W.
