The bulk, of our entry sold at prices on a par with recent rates: Fair mixed hoggets 22= lOd. f.m. ewes in lamb 2Ss. discoloured yearling steers £2 14s, yearling bulls £4, £5, £6, yearling heifers small £2 14s, yearling heifers fair £3 14s, 18 —month heifers £4 15s, £4 17s 6d, 2-year S.H. empty heifers £7, £7 2s. fair store cows £5 15s, £5 18s, £8 ss, £7 2s, £7 sa, forward cows £B, £8 10s, £9 7s, light fat cows £lO 2s, £lO 10s. At Palmerston on Thursday we Rau a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Sheop sold well, but store cattle failed to make vendor’s reserves on several lines. At Mr Matthews’s sale at Baumai on Wednesday cows sold up to £l3 15s, aged gelding £l3 10s, and sundries at usual rales. At Dannevirke a clearing sale was held on behalf of Mr Denis Murphy on the farm at Tataramoa. There was only a moderate attendance of buyers, but the cows were young and in good condition and readily found buyers. We quote: Cows from £8 to £ls, the whole herd of 31 cows averaging £lO ss. A lamb was offered at the sale, presented by Mr Murphv for the Salvation Army tignch comforts, and realised £lO 13s. At Millar’s road yards on Friday we held our usual weekly sale, when we yarded a good entry of both sheep and cattle, to a fair attendance of buyers-. Competition was keen, and we cleared our yarding at satisfactory prices.
