INSURING SAILERS'. , Following the lead of Great'- Britain, the United States Government no longer insures sailing vessels bound for‘the war none. Insurance cn auxiliary sailing vessels also will be discontinued; Fne Bureau of War Insurance is of the.opinion that “the taking of this class of v.ssels out of their regular trade—viz., along the Atlantic coast and to. the Vy est indies—and exposing them to the penis ot the war zones, particularly dangerous tor this class of vessel, is injurious to the commerce and inteiesta of thei country. The Bureau’s present rate of’Sper cent, in steamships bound for the war zone has never applied to sailing vessels, imDvidual rates having been quoted on cacp vessel, ranging up to 30 per cent.
