Official: A squadron of between fifteen and twenty-one aeroplanes approached , Felixstowe and Harwich at 8 o’clock this morning and dropped bombs. Heavy anti-aircraft fire caused the formation to split, part returning overseas and part proceeding southward on tho Essex coast. Tho onemy machines were constantly engaged by gunfire, and proceeded homeward without dropping more bombs. Our aeroplanes pursued the raiders out to sea, heavily engaging tho retreating aviators, but visibility was low and observation difficult. / Eight persons were killed and twenty-five injured at Felixstowe and Harwich. The Press Bureau announces that tho air raid casualties are eleven killed and twenty-six wounded. Tho material damage is insignificant.
