LOSS OF A TUG. The following report ns to the loss of the Sydney tug Nyora has been made bv its master. Captain Mcßain:—“l was some distance to the leeward when the Nvora disappeared, and I . think that, the fact that most of the men were on the high side would account for f.o few being seen on the surface after the tug sank. We spw the mate (Mr Parker) some distance away to the windward. but were unable to reach him. S. Griffiths, the fireman, managed to get into the boat, but died two hours later from exhaustion. Two hours after that the engineer (Mr Stubbs) became delirious and died, leaving Langley and myself. By daylight we were within three or four miles of the Jaffa light, and looking, down low we saw a seething mass of breakers confronting us,, but this was our only hope. When we were able to. stand up we‘waved the lightkeener for assistance. They came through the breakers at the risk of their own lives, and dragged us from, out, boat into theirs. We were on the point of exhaustion. and in danger of being hurled or crushed on to the reef immediately under our lee. To those two men, Jamieson and Clarke, wo owe our lives.”

DELAYED BY BAD WEATHER. The Alexander, which was to leave for Nelson and West Coast yesterday, did not got away owing to delay occasioned by bad weather. She will leave now at noon to-day. Bad weather also prevented the Ngekuta leaving here for Greymonth last night She will sail for the southern port to-da.v and should arrive back on Saturday. .
